Christmas Movies are the gift that keeps on giving! We're all watching Christmas movies with family and friends. Let's learn a little bit more about what makes them so special! Our five holiday films will be: Elf, Home Alone, A Year Without a Santa Claus, The Christmas Chronicles, and The Polar Express! Over the course of 5 magical weeks, students will learn to discuss a variety of topics, including the following: - Summarizing the climax and resolution points of each storyline - Identifying the genre of this particular film - Analyzing the main characters and their motives - Effectively communicating what they learned from the movie and what the overall theme was - Imagining what an alternative ending to the movie may look like As an active Production Manager in the film industry, I will also provide my own input and knowledge about the production, and give the students interesting facts that they can take away from each film. Each week will be a brand new discussion. Each week, students will learn new "film vocabulary" words and lots of fun facts to share with friends and family. There will be no need to attend the previous week's class to fully understand and appreciate the current film, so don't worry if you miss/skip one! I'll see you soon, fellow Christmas movie lovers! My Classroom Policies are listed on my teacher profile page. Please message me with any questions or to schedule this class at a different time!
Learning Goals
Students will learn to summarize movie plots in a concise and effective way. They will learn and be able to use new "film vocabulary" words to describe movies. They will use their imagination as film directors to choose one thing they would change about the movie. Students will use their new knowledge about this production to compare similar movies.

All movies are age appropriate and rated PG. If there are any concerns with the movie choice, please address this prior to class with the teacher.
Supply List

I have included a running list of what movies to expect in the coming weeks in the class information section, which gives families ample time to find and watch each movie.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
