Class Experience

In this 2 day class, we will do Math with a holiday twist. Come join in the fun with some of the kids from my math classes. We will do some fact games, some coloring and much more. The holiday math fun will review addition & subtraction facts including fact families. Take this chance to take a break and enjoy the season by adding a little math to December. Though regular school is taking a winter break, it is always good to review what you have focused on this semester. Math can be challenging at times, but many of you have worked hard in regular school and in my class. I hope each of you will try to be apart of this fun end to the semester with me. You may see some of your regular classmates or you might meet some new ones, too. See you soon!

Teacher expertise and credentials

Hello and Welcome to my profile page! I am an elementary school teacher of 22 years. I have been an online teacher and a stay at home mom for 3 years. I have been married for 25 years and have 2 daughters ages 23 and 19. I also have a basset hound named Melody. I enjoy crafting with my Cricut, cooking/baking and road trips with the family. 

I graduated from Texas State University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Specialization in Math. For 21 years I worked with Title I students. I worked with children that have Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Special Ed accommodations and GT students. I was also a Girl Scout leader for several years for my daughters. 

I am currently teaching online with VIPKID as an ESL teacher. It has been an awesome experience sharing the English Language with the students. 

My hope as a teacher is to build a sense of belonging to a group, where students can express themselves in a safe space. I want students to feel they can take chances with their learning and ask the questions no one wants to ask. 

My favorite color is purple. My bedroom growing up was lavender and my bridesmaids wore deep purple in my wedding. 

I can't wait to see all of your smiling faces in class!
