These sessions will include listening to several Holiday classics. Students will identify and discuss story elements while teacher reads aloud. Routine: Introductions, Holiday Read Aloud of the Day, Discussion: Story Elements, Summary We will read holiday classics for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. They will include teacher discussions and students will have the opportunities to briefly share about their culture and traditions. After the read aloud, we will discussion story elements, identifying characters, setting, and plot. We will conclude our lessons with a summary of the story. Students will need a writing notebook to draw their graphic organizers. Books will include: ⭐️ Week 1: The Hallo-Wiener- Author: Dav Pilkey ⭐️ Week 2: I Need My Monster- Author: Amanda Noll ⭐️ Week 3: The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything- Author: Linda Williams ⭐️ Week 4: Piggie Pie!- Author: Margie Palatini ⭐️ Week 5: The Runaway Pumpkin- Kevin Lewis ⭐️ Week 6: Arthur's Thanksgiving - Marc Brown Extra time after scheduled sessions: We'll read The Thankful Book- Todd Parr! **Taking book requests. Next sessions will include Christmas books!

Parental Guidance
Halloween books may be a little scary as they include monsters/costumes
Supply List
Something to write on and something to write with. We will draw our graphic organizers in our notebooks after the read aloud.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

The teacher will read the holiday books aloud, but students will not be required to have a physical copy of the book.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am a current third grade teacher in a public school. This is now year eleven! As a classroom teacher, I have worked with a wide range of students, including English Language Learners. My favorite subject to teach is math, but I enjoy reading books revolving around the holidays. I have taught phonics intervention groups to kindergarten - fifth grade students. I look forward to working with your child and getting to know them!
