AGE RANGE:
Basic knowledge of English and Computers will be highly beneficial. Prior experience with Minecraft is not required but beneficial.

CLASS OVERVIEW:
In this course we will be learning about Disasters in History through the game of Minecraft.

We will be focusing on four different disasters in History. Some are caused by nature while others are caused by humans. We all make mistakes but sometimes we make massive mistakes. What can we learn from these?

We will take a tour of a different periods of history through the game of Minecraft. We will visit a new disaster and time period each lesson. We will experience History like never before!

During this course, we will explore the World:
7-13 November: Pompeii
14-20 November: The Fire of London
21-27 November: The Titanic
28 November-4 December: Chernobyl

Classes will then cycle back to the beginning

History should not just be kept in the history books.
Learning Goals
Over this course, we will be using Minecraft in each lesson. At the start of each class, students will be introduced to a new world within Minecraft. They will be guided through this world by me. Throughout our tour, we will learn about the people who lived here. We will learn about their cities, religions, cultures, languages and day to day life. To finish it off, we will build a monument to each disaster as a team. History will come alive in the digital world of Minecraft.

We will travel throughout time and around the World. Who are we? What comes next? “We are not makers of history. We are made by history”. This is History in the Making.
