Welcome to Spanish 2 with Profe Angie COURSE DESCRIPTION: This is an accelerated 12 week course that has been designed to fulfill the academic requirements for High School Spanish 2. Course and Curriculum Resources Provided (No purchase necessary) About your Teacher: Highly Energetic, Experienced Spanish Certified Native Speaker Teacher Communication: Am one message away, always open to assist and support you! CLASS STRUCTURE: Schedule: Our class will meet 2x per week for 45 minutes each session Resources/Materials: Students will receive all necessary resources and materials such as but not limited to the following; vocabulary lists, Quizlet, class slides. CURRICULUM: Class content will be presented to students through interactive Power-Point-Style presentations, following the full year of academic requirements for High School Spanish 2. Nearpod will be used in every class. Kahoot may be used during class to review class content. DIGITAL APPS USED TO REVIEW: Quizlet will be used to provide students with vocabulary practice through digital flashcards. Kahoots may be assigned for additional practice outside of class. WHAT TO EXPECT: During Class: Warm-Up (To Review Previous Weeks Topics), Topic Introduction (Direct Instruction) Student Led Practice, and Finish with an Exit Ticket to corroborate understanding. All classes will be highly energetic, full of fun activities, that could include the use of digital apps. MATERIALS NEEDED FOR CLASS: Virtual or Physical Notebook to keep all material/notes provided Writing utensils such as pencils, pens, highlighters LEARNING OBJECTIVES: The class will begin with a preliminary review of Spanish 1 Discuss past events using the preterit tense in Spanish using regular and irregular verbs. Talk about childhood experiences using the Imperfect tense in Spanish. Understand the differences between both Preterit and Imperfect tense and how to use it. Talk about and describe students' daily routine including every day errands around their city or community, in both the present and past tense. Learn about the Passive SE Talk about activities/events that are currently taking place through the correct use of the present progressive. Discuss food preparation and cooking, through the use of formal and informal commands to give and guide through recipe following and cooking completion. Discuss differences and similarities between one's own culture and Hispanics around the world.
