This 12-week course covers High School Spanish 1 requirements. The course is designed to introduce students to fundamental Spanish language skills and cultural concepts, through interactive lessons and activities to develop proficiency.

2-4 hours per week. Homework will be provided to all students.
Assessment
All students will be assessed informally during class, through various activities, Nearpod, and exit tickets, to inform and guide teachers instruction. Formal assessments will be offered upon request for students. Please ensure you let the teacher know prior and or during the first day of class. Please see class description for additional guidance.
Grading
Grades will be offered upon student request.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is an accelerated 12 week course that has been designed to fulfill the academic requirements for High School Spanish 1.

CLASS STRUCTURE:
Schedule: Our class will meet 1x per week for 50 minutes each session
Resources/Materials: Students will receive all necessary resources and materials such as but not limited to the following; vocabulary lists, Quizlet, Boom Cards. 

CURRICULUM:
Class content will be presented to students through interactive Power-Point-Style presentations, following the full year of academic requirements for High School Spanish 1. 
Nearpod will be used in every class.
Kahoot may be used during class to review class content. 

DIGITAL APPS USED TO REVIEW:
Quizlet will be used to provide students with vocabulary practice through digital flashcards.
Kahoots may be assigned for additional practice outside of class.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
During Class:Warm Up (To Review Previous Weeks Topics), Topic Introduction (Direct Instruction) Student Led Practice, and Finish with an Exit Ticket to corroborate understanding. 

All classes will be highly energetic, full of fun activities, that could include the use of digital apps.

Writing utensils such as pencils, pens, highlighters

-Students will be able to hold a basic conversation, introducing themselves, talking about where they are from and sharing a little bit about themselves
-Students will learn numbers 1-30, use the knowledge to provide and exchange phone numbers
-Learn about the days of the week
-Use basic common classroom phrases

Mis Amigos y yo! My Friends And I!
 Learning Objectives:
-The student will be able to properly identify subject pronouns in Spanish
-Learn the use of the verb SER to describe themselves and others
-Learn definite and indefinite articles 
-Introduction to the verb Gustar in Spanish with an infinitive and noun

 Learning Objectives:
-Students will be able to talk about their daily schedules
-Talk about the time
-Learn numbers 30-100
-Introduction to verb: Tener, IR and AR regular verbs

 Learning Objectives:
-Students will learn about present tense of er and ir verbs
-Will learn how to use Gustar with nouns to express their food preference and dislike.
-Talk about family, using possessive adjectives and comparatives to describe and compare them

I hold a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction and have been teaching students from across the country online for the last 11 plus years. I have extensive experience building Spanish curriculum for levels 1, 2, 3 and AP. Am a native Spanish speaker.
