In this class, we will begin with the basics of High School Geometry in order for your learner to be better prepared for the start of the school year. I will mainly focus on solving different types of equations and that is the basics of Algebra. Strengthening this skill will allow learners to progress faster and succeed in present and future upper level math courses. We will also follow a typical classroom, since its a small group we will not only work on skills but increase the rigor throughout the class. The class will take place 2x a week for 4 weeks and will go as follows: Week 1 day 1 Review of Solving Multi-Step Equations Week 1 day 2 Segment Addition Postulate Week 2 day 1 Angle Addition Postulate Week 2 day 2 Parallel Lines & Transversals ( Focus on Vocabulary) Week 3 day 1 Identifying Angles Created by Parallel Lines and Transversals Week 3 day 2 Parallel Lines & Transversals w. Algebra Week 4 day 1 Classifying Triangles w. Triangle Sum/Exterior Angle Theorem Week 4 day 2 Base Angle Theorem

I have been a New York State Certified Math Teacher for eight years and in that time, I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 Common Core Math. I currently teach Geometry and Algebra 2.
I am very well versed in middle school and high school math and have seen how certain topics develop as the rigor increases throughout one's math education. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have been able to effectively teach students in all capacities, whether they are learning from a laptop, ipad or phone, I will do my best to reach all my students.
