Homework
2-4 hours per week. Weekly homework will be assigned in the form of worksheets or assignments on Khan Academy. Homework sheets will be provided after each class, and students are expected to turn in their completed homework before the next class. They can submit their homework in the form of an image, scan, PDF, or other appropriate format. Additionally, unit tests consisting of 9-12 questions will be assigned on Khan Academy.
Assessment
To receive a letter grade or a letter of completion, learners are required to complete all assignments, participate in class, and take a cumulative course review test.
Grading
In this class, you can receive a letter of completion, a letter grade, or a pass/no pass option, along with a certificate of completion.

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
This course covers high school geometry, which is typically taken after algebra 1. It is intended for learners who have already studied elementary/middle school geometry. During each class, students will listen to my explanations of concepts and key terms related to our unit. They will be expected to take notes, work on problems individually, and participate in class. We will also work on problems together as a group. The last few minutes of each session will be used to answer questions and review homework and additional resources.

The course is 16 weeks long, with each unit lasting two weeks. The topics covered include performing transformations, congruence, similarity, right triangles and trigonometry, analytic geometry, conic sections, circles, and solid geometry. Students will need a scientific calculator, writing tools, and basic geometry supplies. They must also complete weekly homework assignments and Khan Academy unit tests. It is essential that students have a solid understanding of algebra 1 and basic geometry.

The course moves at the pace of the learners and video resources will be provided for topics not covered in class. As this is a full high school geometry course that is usually taught daily over a year, students must be dedicated and willing to work hard. I also have PDF worksheets available for each unit and will leave the meeting if no one attends within 10 minutes. Students are welcome to ask me questions about assignments inside or outside of class via messages on Outschool.

Weekly schedule:

Week 5-6: Similarity
solving similar triangles, proving relations, etc.
Week 7-8: Right triangles & Trigonometry
- Pythagorean theorem, ratios, solving for a side in a right triangle using the trigonometric ratios, solving for an angle in a right triangle using the trigonometric ratios, sine & cosine of complementary angles, etc.
Week 9-10: Analytic Geometry
- Distance, Midpoints, dividing line segments, & coordinate plane geometry.
Week 11-12- Conic Sections
Standard equation of a circle, etc.
Week 13-14: Circles
- Circle basics, arc measures, radians, arc length, constructing, sectors, tangents, etc.
