Students will be learning about the history of superhero comics for the cartooning unit which does mention the Great Depression and World War 2 as catalysts for graphic novels. The bronze age of comic books will also be mentioned when comic books did take on darker tones and did tackle social issues like the war on drugs and racism. The modern age of comics along with anti heroes will also be discussed.

Students will be given past examples from previous drawing students who have given permission for their art to be displayed. Because student art is personal to each student, some students have art that features movie, game, and comic characters and may contain religious icons of that student.

For the human figure unit, not nudity will be displayed at all. The figure will be taught fully clothed.
For the collage unit, students will be using Pixlr.com, a free photoshop-like website that requires no download or account but does contain ads.
