Class experience

Our Learning Goals:
1) To provide a fun, engaging, dynamic environment for serious, budding artists to sketch, learn, and upgrade their craftsmanship.
2) In the long run, help students develop a design portfolio with a strong "wow-factor"!
With over 12 years of experience as a concept artist, I provide a kind of dynamic, fun and "hands-on" type of teaching environment that drives engagement and inspires aspiring young artists.

My rigorous, highly experienced design education & background (Art Center College of Design PROD 02, professional concept artist in the themed entertainment industry) helps me bring to my students an "up-to-date", "real-world" based experience - one that's infused with a lot of humor, hard work work, industry insights and life experiences.

My classes goes way beyond merely learning art. It is designed to inspire and equip the next-gen creative leader within every child and youth.
Homework Offered
I assign practical (usually fun) small, weekly art challenges for students as a way to help them build their art skills - and portfolios in the long run. I strongly encourage my students to commit 1 hr + per week - if they're serious about making progress in improving their art skills.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students' progress will be assessed by reviewing the quantity and quantity of their visual notes and weekly practices. Mistakes and messy drawings are HIGHLY encouraged. "Finished Artworks" are of merely secondary importance.

This mentorship may lightly touch on studying the textures and structures of historical, weather-worn, antique objects, weapons, vehicles, or environments like abandoned buildings. We will only focus on sketching the design and texture aspects such as objects or environments. No blood, explicit sexual themes, and gore will be allowed.
We may use Google Sheets and Slides to help us build libraries of image references.
