This class is designed for the absolute beginning guitar player, and it is meant to be informative, but most of all it is meant to be fun! We'll talk about all the main parts of the guitar, the guitar pick, how to hold the guitar and guitar pick, string names, and guitar strumming will be introduced. I teach by modeling the concepts and asking students to mirror them to the best of their ability- gently guiding them along the way. The class size will be kept small so that I can interact with all learners as a group and individually. Absolutely no experience is required (but experienced learners are welcome to join as well)!

By the end of this class the student will be able to:
hold the guitar properly
hold the guitar pick properly
name the six guitar strings
name the parts of the guitar
strum a guitar
sing and strum a silly song

A one-page handout will be provided prior to our class meeting. The handout will also be shared during the live class meeting in case students are unable to print a copy for themselves.
