This class incorporates science, health and wellness, and life skills. After icebreaker introductions, we will begin class by listening to a humorous story, "Rosie's Brain." Throughout the lesson, we will have an interactive discussion about the parts of the brain that help us manage anger and calm down: the amygdala, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex (PFC). We will color a picture of the brain during our discussion. Students will see a model of the brain. We will practice a mindfulness exercise.

Please bring a special object to share during introductions. Also, bring blue, red, and green crayons or markers for our brain coloring activity, as well as the brain coloring sheet I have attached to the classroom.
