Hello! I'm Ms. Tarra, an artist, homeschooling mom, and certified Therapeutic Art Life Coach with over 10 years of teaching experience in a variety of subjects. I hold a TESOL certification and a Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies. My teaching journey has taken me abroad to Argentina, Costa Rica, and Haiti, where I served as an ESL Tutor and Art Teacher, enriching my approach to education with diverse cultural perspectives. My classes focus on vibrant art and plant-based cooking, emphasizing inclusivity and fostering a welcoming environment. As a Certified Positive Psychology Art Coach, I incorporate a therapeutic approach that parents appreciate, creating a positive and supportive space for neurodivergent learners. I believe that art is a powerful form of expression and strive to nurture each child's unique style. By crafting engaging and dynamic lessons, I support creative expression and help build confidence through art. In my spare time, I enjoy painting, cooking (with a particular passion for plant-based cuisine), reading, caring for houseplants, cuddling with my cat Nala, taking nature walks, learning new skills, and creating content for YouTube. As a content creator, I love sharing my passions and empowering aspiring artists. I am patient, compassionate, and warm, and I cherish the joy of teaching and connecting with children. Experience: Some kitchen experience is required for safety reasons. Learners should be comfortable mixing, chopping, and using kitchen equipment.
A full supply list for weekly ingredients and equipment will be posted in the classroom. This class involves the use of equipment and utensils such as stoves, ovens, knives, and food processors. Recipes often require tasks that can lead to cuts, burns, and other injuries. Therefore, parental supervision and assistance are required at all times. Please review the ingredients for any food restrictions and/or potential allergens for your child. The supply list will be posted in the classroom.
