In this class learners will learn the science behind body odor, pimples and other reasons we need to practice self care. Through this class they will learn what happens when we neglect our bodies. Remedies and prevention will be discussed. The learner will understand the difference between anti-perspirants and deodorants. Why pimples should not be popped and why showering more often as they go through puberty is important. This class is designed to fulfill US national health standards and will encompass the following 8 standards along with body hygiene & nutrition. Week one: Feb 6, 2023 Zoom training overview & body odor, Pimple & why we should shower class. There will be a presentation on how personal hygiene is important in many ways, including odor prevention, good oral hygiene, acne and nutrition. Week two: Feb 13, 2023 Standard one: Learners will comprehend concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention to enhance their health. Standard Two: Students will analyze the influence of family, peers, culture, media, technology and other factors on health behaviors. By discussing these issues related to various social inputs, such as family, culture, technology etc. students will have a better understanding on how they can control many aspects related to healthful living. Week Three: Feb 20, 2023 Standard three: Students will demonstrate the ability to access valid information, products and services to enhance health. Students will learn where to find helpful and informative information related to nutrition and mental health services. We will discuss the mind/body relation to overall health. Week Four: Feb 27, 2023 Standard four: Students will demonstrate the ability to use interpersonal communication skills to enhance and avoid or reduce certain health risks. Standard five: Students will demonstrate the ability to use decision-making skills to enhance health. Students will learn techniques to monitor their online activity and limit their use of social media for better mental health. Students will be made aware of healthy choices versus unhealthy choices that relate to their overall well-being. Week Five: March 6, 2023 Standard six: Students will demonstrate the ability to use goal setting skills to enhance health. Students will develop a personalized goal that relates to their situation. They will learn how to prioritize their health and balance their daily activities. Week Six: March 13, 2923 Standard seven: Students will demonstrate the ability to practice health enhancing behaviors and avoid taking risks. Students will learn the risks of alchohol, cigarettes, vaping and being inactive physically. Peer pressure will be address and also self love. Week Seven: March 20, 2023 Standard eight: Students will demonstrate the ability to advocate for personal, family and community health. Review & How to move forward in maintaining self care physically and emotionally.

This class is not meant to treat or diagnose any mental or physical issue. This is an informative class on the basics of health appropriate for the child's age. This class will discuss the basics of healthy versus unhealthy food choices, but is not a nutrition plan.
