Grading
Each assignment will be graded and will contribute to the overall grade. A report will be given per request from the parent.

Class Experience

US Grade 9
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to lead healthy, balanced lives through a focus on lifetime health and fitness. Students will learn how to be proactive about their health by emphasizing prevention rather than reaction. The curriculum aligns with the National Standards for Health & P.E. and incorporates material covered in 9th-grade health classes, as taught in Virginia schools. This course is an excellent fit for both homeschoolers and traditional students seeking a comprehensive understanding of health concepts.

What Will Be Taught:
Students will explore essential topics related to personal health, wellness, and fitness, including:

     ~Physical, mental, and emotional health
     ~Nutrition and healthy eating habits

     ~Fitness and physical activity for lifelong health

This course fosters critical thinking about health choices and equips students with tools to maintain their well-being.

The course content is organized into units, each containing multiple topics. Examples include:

     ~Maintaining physical fitness

The material is delivered through teaching videos, PowerPoint slides, and detailed instructional content to ensure clarity and engagement.

Class Structure and How It Will Be Taught:

- Pacing: Students will progress at their own pace through each unit. New content is uploaded every Monday (Eastern Time).

-Modules: Each unit includes several chapters, accompanied by teaching videos, PowerPoints, and assignments designed to reinforce understanding.

-Assignments: Each unit includes at least three assignments, which may vary by topic. These include classwork, quizzes (Google Forms), and other tasks to assess comprehension.

-Reports: At the end of the course, students will receive a report card summarizing their grades for all assignments and their final grade.

Teaching Style and Student Interaction:

-Teaching Style: I aim to provide clear, engaging instruction through a combination of videos, slides, and structured assignments. My teaching emphasizes proactive health strategies, critical thinking, and practical applications of health knowledge.

-Student Support: Students can request a meeting with me anytime during the semester via email. Optional Zoom meetings are also available for questions, additional help, or peer collaboration.

-Participation: Students are encouraged to engage actively with the material, complete assignments, and seek support when needed.

 This PowerPoint will go over all the mental, social, and physical benefits of Health and why it is important all throughout our life. Students will learn how we use health in our everyday lives.

 This lesson will help students make decisions through a variety of different scenarios using the DECIDE Process.

 What is stress? What causes stress? Some ways to not be stressed. During this lesson students will look at a few stressors in life and create their own schedule & to do list.

I have a Bachelors and a Masters in Kinesiology. With this degree I have had training (8years) in Health, Anatomy, Physiology, Biology, Nutrition, Wellness, and more. I am a certified and licensed teacher that is qualified to teach this information in this course. I currently am a 9th grade Health & P.E. teacher at a local school. I have been teaching the topics listed under the description for 6 years. All class videos and material will also be posted. Students will use google form to take quizzes and tests. Students will be looking at Google Slides for information from the textbook. There will be a Google Slides for each chapter. Students will be using Google Docs for assignments to be uploaded. Google drive will contain important information. PLEASE SEE THE LEARNING OBJECTIVES FOR MORE INFORMATION.
