30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this introductory Spanish lesson, your child will practice the letter names and sounds in the Spanish alphabet. I will model the name and the sound for each letter and the children will repeat. I will utilize movement (TPR) to help the students associate the letter to its sound. No prior Spanish knowledge is required. There will be teacher-created letter flashcards and a Google Slides presentation for students to follow along. We will play games such as "Guess the Letter", "What's Missing?, and "The Flash". Each student will have several opportunities to participate in class through repetition and movement. Lesson Outline: 1. Each child will introduce themselves (if they are comfortable) with the class. 2. I will ask some questions to assess prior knowledge. 3. I will go over the class rules and what we will be learning. 4. I will model 3-4 letters at a time. The children will repeat and do after me with each letter. 5. We will review the letters and sounds using Google Slides, by playing games such as "Guess the Letter", "What's Missing?, and "The Flash". 6. Goodbye: Students will share something new they learned. 7. I have included a smaller pdf version of the flashcards we use in class for you to print out and continue to practice on your own if you choose to do so. Happy learning!
