Harry Potter is back for his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There's only one problem, Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban and everyone seems to think that he's coming for Harry. Students will improve their critical reading skills, specifically focusing on summarizing, main idea, personification, hyperbole, making predictions, character traits, cause and effect, and plot.
Homework Offered
Students will read 3-4 chapters of Harry Potter and the Prisoner pf Azkaban per week and will complete a short assignment. The reading and assignment should take about 2-2.5 hours per week.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class

Harry Potter does contain themes of good vs evil and could be scary for more sensitive learners. Students will be provided with links to Google Forms for their homework assignments. Learners do not need a Google account to fill out the form. If you would prefer to have your learner not use Google Forms, please send me a message and we can work out another way for them to complete the assignments.
