In this virtual St. Patrick's Day party we will hear jokes, practice social skills by introducing ourselves, meet some puppet friends, and play games. Learners will practice listening and pattern skills as they play St. Patrick's Day Bingo and will have a chance to get some wiggles out in a second game that involves movement. Together we will complete a St. Patrick's Day themed craft to design a miniature "leprachan trap" that includes a rainbow project. Please see details in the supply section of suggested items to bring to class. Learners are invited to wear something green and bring a special treat to celebrate as well!
Learning Goals
Students will practice social skills through interaction with others.

Parental Guidance

Supply List
For Bingo, you will need to print the bingo card that will be posted before class and something to use as markers such as bingo chips, buttons, cheerios, or lucky charm cereal marshmallows. For the craft you will need to print the clipart page that will be posted before class and - one empty toilet paper roll, - gluestick, - scissors, - one sheet of heavier paper for the base such as cardboard or cardstock, - 8-10 cotton balls, - one cupcake liner (mini size works best, but either will work), and - 2-3 pipe cleaners - something to use for "bait" (e.g., pennies, plastic gold coins, stickers, gold pipe cleaners, glitter stickers, lucky charms, etc.), crayons OR markers (optional). Substitutions for these items are welcomed as we can be flexible and there is room for individual learner creativity in designing the trap!
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Greetings! I am thrilled to be a part of the Outschool teaching group! Working with kids and helping them learn and grow truly is a passion of mine. I hold a bachelor's degree with double majors in business management and psychology, a masters degree in community counseling, and a post-masters degree in school counseling. My teaching experience is broad, covering multiple settings including community outreach, corporate training, nonprofit agency work, higher education (including University and Community College levels), and public K12 schools. Some of the classes I've taught include organizational and study skills, managing strong emotions, psychology, sociology, and career exploration, to name a few. In addition, I'm married and a mom of two young children. We live in a rural area and maintain a small hobby farm that is a home to several animals including five alpacas! I hope to have the opportunity to meet your student!
