US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
In this hands-on course, students will learn essential kindergarten math concepts like counting, subitizing, addition, subtraction, place value, geometry, and word problems through interactive, play-based activities. These engaging methods build foundational skills in a fun and meaningful way, ensuring lasting understanding. Master Counting and Subitizing Students will use hands-on activities such as sorting and counting objects (e.g., buttons, blocks, or beads) into groups, arranging them in patterns, and playing quick recognition games. Subitizing will be practiced through activities like using dot cards, dice, or ten frames to instantly identify quantities without counting. Develop Basic Addition and Subtraction Skills Students will explore addition and subtraction within 10 by using manipulatives like Play-Doh, counters, or toys to physically add or remove items from groups. Activities will include number line hops, stacking blocks to visualize sums, and engaging in interactive story problems using real objects. Understand Shapes and Geometry Students will create and identify shapes using Play-Doh, straws, or craft sticks and explore attributes by building 3D models. Positional relationships will be reinforced through activities like moving objects on a mat (e.g., “Place the triangle above the square”) or scavenger hunts to find shapes in the classroom. Explore Place Value Concepts Using tools like base-ten blocks, linking cubes, or bundled sticks, students will build numbers up to 20 by grouping and regrouping into tens and ones. Activities might include creating “number towers” or matching digits to their physical representations with manipulatives. Solve Simple Word Problems Students will solve word problems through storytelling with props or visual aids such as picture cards and story mats. They will use tools like counters, ten frames, or small toys to represent the problems physically and develop their understanding by acting out the scenarios.

An extensive library of fully-decodable, diverse & dynamic books are also part of the curriculum. It is designed for native or non-native English speakers.
How is literature used in second language teaching?
Literature can make the teaching of a language more fun. It introduces different parts of grammar and sentences in an interactive way. We can talk about interesting topics, encourage students to express their points of view and introduce in depth and current topics.
