Hand-sewing is a skill that everyone needs in life! In this one-time class, students will learn basics of hand-sewing. They will learn how to thread a needle, how to use a thimble, how to sew on a button, and how to hem. Students will learn the following stitches: running stitch, whip stitch, and back stitch. This class will be a workshop where learners will see a demonstration of stitches and then will practice the stitches. Mrs. Borton is a relaxed and patient instructor who will help students gain confidence in their ability to sew by hand. This is an introductory course, so no prior experience in sewing is necessary.
Learning Goals
