What will be taught? Communication skills, including how to ask questions and respond with appropriate comments, and how to critique a theatrical performance. What topics will you cover? The writer of Hamilton and how art, reading, and history are all connected. How is your class structured? First 5 minutes will be introductions and class discussion expectations. Next 20-25 minutes would be discussion about the play Hamilton and last 5 minutes would be closing comments and goodbye—or maybe even a little singing! How will you teach? I will teach by modeling questioning and responding techniques as well as encouraging learners to open the conversation with their interests in the play. What's your teaching style? How much will learners get to interact with you and each other (mention specifics like: lecture, games, slides, video clips, discussion)? Discussion and singing, if they are comfortable. Any required experience or knowledge learners need? Learners should have seen Hamilton the play, either live or thru new version, and have listened to music.
Learning Goals
Learners will understand how to dialogue and critique theatrical performances while also developing social skills of communication about a historical topic that interests them.
Other Details
