Class Experience

Have you ever wondered why we light Jack-O-Lanterns, go bobbing for apples, or wear costumes to Trick or Treat? In this class, we will be going over some of the common superstitions of Halloween, and the historical reasons behind them. This will be a primarily lecture-based class, with students getting the opportunity to share some of their traditional Halloween traditions they celebrate with their families towards the end of class. Students will also be provided with a crossword puzzle they can solve using answers from the lecture.

*Students do not need any historical knowledge of Halloween, but should be familiar with the holiday as a whole. Please read the parental guidance section before enrolling. All students must have a working camera and microphone.**
