The learners will be assessed informally throughout each meeting. At the end of each meeting, they will be asked to display their art in a virtual 'art gallery' so that all participants can see the works created.Class Experience
The learners will be taught how to draw using a pencil to plan a Halloween-themed painting and finish their artwork by using acrylic paints to create candy corn creatures including a Witch's Hat, a jack-o-lantern with a witch's hat, a pumpkin with a hat, and a set of candy corn creatures that can be used to decorate for Halloween. Topics will include sketching and drawing, using lines to create shape and texture, blending paints, and mixing paints to create other colors. The class will be structured in the following format: Greetings Demonstration of drawing Socialization while painting Art Gallery presentation The class will be structured as a step-by-step demonstration with socialization and creativity encouraged throughout each class. I will teach by utilizing a step-by-step demonstration while encouraging learners to add their own details to their paintings. My teaching style is informal and relaxed. I will encourage the learners to be creative throughout the camp/class. The learners will be encouraged to interact with each other as well as with me throughout each session. Questions about what the campers like/dislike and as well as some 'Would you rather...?' questions will be asked to begin the socialization conversations between members of the class. Learners will be encouraged to think of questions they would like to find out about the other members of the camp as well. There is no previous knowledge needed for this camp. Day 1: Witch's Hat Day 2 Candy Corn Day 3 Pumpkin with Hat Day 4: Candy Corn Trick-Or-Treat *** I do not cancel classes due to low enrollment.

The learners will guide some of the discussions. Some of the conversations may involve Halloween due to the nature of the paintings.

Canvas, paper, or cardstock Pencil Eraser Paints- colors of the learners' choice- I will be using acrylic paint, however, the learners can use other types of paint. Cup of water Paper towel Pallett Paintbrushes Creativity Some type of covering for the work surface to prevent paint from getting on the surface. I use a silicone baking sheet to protect my workspace. Smile
