US Grade 2 - 5
Spark your learner's spooky and creative writing with stories and writing! We start with an inspiring read-aloud of "I Need My Monster" and then dive into the narrative and creative writing process. 🌟 With over 5000 learners successfully taught on Outschool, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the virtual classroom. 🎓 The proof is in the numbers—over 1500 5-star reviews from satisfied students and grown-ups! 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙜𝙚𝙩: ➡️ 100% Authentic Teacher Feedback and Support! ➡️ 3 Main Learning Sessions - You don't plan! I do! ➡️ Write One Narrative Paragraph ➡️ Grade Level learning ➡️ Written or Video feedback on submitted assignments ➡️ Teacher-made videos, writing organizers, digital and print assignments, and games ➡️ Work 40 min per video lesson ➡️ Work at your pace ➡️ Short, under 15 minute video lessons ➡️ Lots of practice and almost-instant support Using a roll-the-die approach, students craft their own "Not-So-Scary Story" by randomly selecting story elements like characters, settings, and conflicts. It's an engaging and fun way to spark a love for writing and nurture creative skills. In this class, we focus on Model Writing, a teaching approach where I demonstrate new writing skills to students before they practice them independently. By modeling what I expect from them, I give students a solid starting point and access to the ideas needed to kickstart their writing process. This method enables me to guide students through the steps necessary to produce a polished piece of writing. Additionally, students receive individualized feedback on submitted work. I respond 3x a week (MWS). I encourage all students to submit their revised writing for review. This review process allows for personalized feedback, ensuring that each student receives one-on-one support.
Learning Goals
While prior knowledge of paragraph writing is beneficial, it's not essential, as we will be covering these skills in our sessions to help students improve their writing. Students will master the narrative paragraph writing format.
