Class Experience

Class description: This 45-minute class is for girls and boys who are beginners in gymnastics. We will begin class with a quick warm-up and stretch. Then, we will work on basic gymnastics drills and skills for floor, beam, and vault. Some of the skills we will be working on include; rolls, donkey kicks, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs and bridges! All that is required for this class is a yoga mat or a padded surface/mat at least the size of a yoga mat. Note: While parents are not required to participate with their child in the class, supervision is highly recommended to maintain a safe environment.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to properly warm-up and stretch for gymnastics. They will also learn how to gain strength and flexibility in order to perform basic gymnastics skills.

Supply List
All that is required for this class is a yoga mat or a padded surface at least the size of a yoga mat. Students should show up to class in exercise wear that is breathable and permits movement. They should also have their hair pulled back, out of their face, and a water bottle handy.

Professional background: I have worked as a gymnastics coach for 7 years, ages 3-18 and up to level 7. I also taught Acro to dancers for almost 2 years. I am currently in college working toward earning my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training. I am CPR and First-Aid certified.
My values: I love working with students who are committed to learning and improving, I always strive for improvement not perfection!
Fun Fact: I have traveled to Austria, Switzerland, and Finland to perform in the World Gymnaestrada!
