Our lessons will provide a supportive, creative space for students to discover the joy of making music. Whether you're new to the instrument or continuing your studies, my goal is to foster your love of music through tailored instruction and a strengths-based approach. Most of all, I hope you'll walk away feeling empowered in your ability to express yourself musically. My hope is that the music you learn brings you years of enrichment - both in technical skill and personal fulfillment. Let's get started!
Hey everyone! I'm Michael, and my teaching approach is built around the idea that music should be fun and engaging. I firmly believe that anyone can learn music, regardless of background or experience. Here's how I make that happen:

👉 Focus on Fun: Learning an instrument should feel like joyful exploration, not a chore. I tailor lessons to your interests, using songs and styles you love to keep you motivated.

👉 Play what you want to play: Forget rigid programs! I use your favorite songs and styles as a foundation for building skills and understanding music theory.

👉 Develop strong technique: While we're having fun, I'll also ensure you learn proper technique and build a solid foundation for future growth.

This approach, honed through my own experience, has helped countless students of all ages discover their musical potential.

Qualifications & Experience

As a musician, I've been obsessed with music for 26 years, pouring the last 16 into mastering the guitar. My passion for music led me to York University's esteemed music program, where I was honored with the prestigious Oscar Peterson Scholarship. That experience fueled my fire to share music with others, and for the past 10 years, I've been inspiring students of all ages. But music isn't just about teaching for me – I also get to channel that passion on stage as the leader of Accolades, our electrifying funk band!

My diverse musical background combined with a passion for making learning fun allows me to create a well-rounded and engaging learning experience for my students. So, are you ready to unlock the joy of music? Let's get started!
