GUIDED READING BASICS TWO is a class that has been designed to teach, review and practice Reading Skills that are embedded within reading passages that students read on a daily basis. This is a continuation of the Guided Reading Basics One course, and the foci will be placed upon skills whereby the student must deconstruct and then reconstruct text to derive their answers. Students will learn, study and practice approximately more than 20 Reading Strategies and Reading Skills by using 6 workbooks that parents must purchase.
I have had more than 20 years of classroom and tutorial experience teaching Writing Skills to various age groups. I have extensive coursework and professional development training in the academic area of Writing. I have taught writing skills and strategies with English Language Arts Courses and with the READ 180 program which contains a writing component.
Homework Offered
There will be homework assigned each night. Students MUST complete the tasks in order to move the class forward. The homework will consist of having students read passages and respond to related comprehension questions to demonstrate their understanding of the skills and strategies taught.Assessments Offered
