30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time class, learners will become a MASTER at describing various items during an engaging guessing game! They will learn about the 5 senses and how we use them to describe items. Learners will expand their vocabulary and work on using complete sentences to describe their items while the other learners and the teacher try to guess what their item is! This class will be so interactive and fun that your learner will not even realize they are learning! A "Describing Cheat Sheet" handout will be provided to you to use during class as well as after class so that you can continue to help your child learn to describe items! *Please have your learner bring 1-3 items to describe during our guessing game in class. But don't show them to us until it is time to play the game! Also, if you do not see a time that works well for your learner, please feel free to contact me or send me a schedule request.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello parents! My name is Andrea Schmitz and I am SO excited to meet your learners. I work full time as a speech language pathologist (SLP) in an elementary school in FL. I have been working with children since high school but have been professionally working with children as a SLP for over 11 years now! I love helping children find their voice and learn new sounds, words and concepts. It brings me joy when they succeed at using BIG sentences to express their wants, thoughts, and needs! I earned my Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from The George Washington University in 2007 and my Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH (about 45 minutes from where I grew up).
In my classes, your learner will be having so much fun that they will not even realize they are learning! I focus on learning through play while having fun. I encourage a lot of engagement and participation between myself and the learners as well as learner to learner.
If you ever have any questions or ideas for future classes, do not hesitate to reach out to me. Be sure to follow me in order to stay up to date on my class listings and schedule. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with your learner and I cannot wait to meet you in class!
