Assessment
Students will create a takeaway at the end of each class that will assess their knowledge of the information shared in that particular class on that day. Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
DAY 1- The Power of Words: Learners are exposed to science-backed information regarding the impact and benefits of vocabulary enhancement in ways that the learner may not have thought about or learned before. The information is presented in class through demonstrations, interactive activities, and multimedia presentation. Learners end the day with a personal reflection activity takeaway regarding themselves and the words that impact them.
DAY 2-Say What?: Learners are presented with resources and techniques to organically grow their own vocabularies in fun and interesting ways. Several techniques are presented with time for learners to practice and experiment with each technique to see which ones they find the most fun and helpful. Learners end the day by creating a takeaway word analysis of four new vocabulary words they want to incorporate into their own current vernaculars based on their class exploration. Learners are also asked to bring a version of their own vocabulary choices to Class 3 utilizing the methods and techniques learned in today's class.
DAY 3- A Word is Worth a Thousand Pictures: Today, the evidence-based tips, tricks, and techniques of organically growing one's vocabulary are reviewed for learners. The class then is shifted to a student- driven practice and presentation where each learner is able to share their own sources and vocabulary choices based on techniques and resources chosen from Day 2 from a variety of choices, and other learners have a chance to add these vocabulary to their own for future gameplay (Day 4). Today ends with learners creating a digital takeaway board with their newly aquired vocabulary they have learned from their own research and that of other learners.
DAY 4-I Didn't Know Words were so Fun!: Today learners will be given concrete ways to solidify their newly aquired vocabulary choices into their everyday lives- through gameplay. Learners will be exposed to and given time to play several high impact games with newly aquired vocabulary words individually, in class groupings, and online . Then, as a takeaway for Day 4, students will design (with examples and guidance) their own high impact game to learn and incorporate newly accessed vocabulary words into their daily interpersonal exchanges. Students will leave Day 4 with exposure to over 50 new vocabulary words that they can incorporate into their own daily settings or study guides for current and future use.
