Join me as we find out what will happen when the Grinch finally allows the spirit of Christmas into his heart! In this one time class, students are welcome to get cozy while they enjoy a read aloud of "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" by Dr. Seuss. We will then work together to bring the joy of Christmas into the Grinch's heart by doing a STEM activity. All students are invited to roll up their sleeves and participate in the science experiment to grow the Grinch's heart, or they may choose to simply watch.
Learning Goals
Students will first enjoy a holiday read aloud, and then learn about how a gas is created by mixing vinegar and baking soda.

Parental Guidance
While this is a kid friendly science experiment, there is a possibility of a mess being created. Parents may choose to supervise and be an extra set of hands if needed.
Supply List
If your child chooses to participate in the STEM activity these are the supplies needed: -Shallow tray: cookie sheet, large plate, etc. to contain mess -Empty plastic water bottle -Balloon (green preferred but any color will work) -Permanent marker (red preferred but any color will work) -1/3 cup baking soda -1 cup vinegar -Funnel

My name is Bethany! I’m a certified teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I have 10 years of teaching experience, with 3.5 of those being in an online setting. I am also fluent in American Sign Language. My mother is hearing impaired, and started teaching me sign language before I could even walk. At a very young age, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher, and have developed a deep passion for teaching and learning. As a teacher, I’m a huge believer in taking a child-centered approach. I love creating lessons that are interactive, meaningful, engaging, positive and fun!
When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. We love to go camping together, and explore the outdoors.
