This 8-week beginner class is for kids who have completed my level 1 course. In this no-stress environment, I will teach you open chords, chord transitioning, and strumming. Bonus slideshows and video tutorials are included.
Class experience
IN ORDER TO TAKE THIS CLASS, YOU MUST: ⭐know all 7 Level 1 chords by heart without being prompted or reminded ⭐be able to switch between all 7 chords easily without being prompted or reminded ⭐have taken Level 1 with me THIS CLASS CAN'T BE TAKEN IF LEVEL 1 HAS NOT BEEN MASTERED. After completing Level 1, I will recommend taking Level 2 if a learner is ready. If a learner is not ready based on the criteria, I will recommend more practice for a Level 2 at a later time. As a beginner, you will continue to learn how to play open chords, switch between them, and strum where you left off at my level 2 class.
Homework Offered
🎸 I will give you a slideshow with our lessons and video tutorials. 🎸 You should practice 15-30 minutes per day 3-4 times a week to see improvement. Students who do not practice in between sessions will find the sessions confusing and overwhelming.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class

🎸 You will need a guitar. 🎸 You will need a guitar tuning app (I use Guitar Tuna which requires parental consent) or an electronic guitar tuner.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Guitar Tuna app: In addition to the Outschool classroom, you will need a way to tune the guitar. You may choose to purchase an electronic tuner or utilize a tuning app for iPhone or Android. I personally use the Guitar Tuna app. You'll need to give your child parental consent to use this app or you may choose to tune the guitar for your child using the app yourselves. YouTube: All YouTube videos that go with slideshows will be linked into the classroom instead so that learners are not directed to the YouTube site.
