Groovy Grammar: Parts of Speech for Writing - Beginners

Understanding and using parts of speech is crucial to good writing!  We will explore the main parts of speech, the jobs they perform, the questions they ask, and practice identifying them in a sentence as well as using them in our writing.  Practice will be done in each class to assure that the learner understands that particular part of speech. Games will be used to capture interest.

I teach in a relaxed manner.  Prior knowledge:  Your learner should have a reading and spelling level appropriate for their age level.  This course is not appropriate for a student younger than 9 because of the pace of the class.  Please bring paper and a pencil. Class Rules:  We mute so we do not talk over one another.  We are kind and respectful to everyone.  If we have a question or comment, we raise our hand.  As per the Outschool rules, the camera must be turned on at the beginning of each class so I may verify the learner.
