This class will look at some of the other stories through Hesiod's works: Theogony and Works and Days. This section will go over the various exploits of Zeus, the story of Pandora and her famous box, as well as, Cupid and Psyche.

Class Experience

In this section of this two-part series, students will explore Hesiod's works: Theogony and Works and Days. Students will learn about the various exploits of Zeus and his many adventures, as well as the story of Pandora and her box. Students will also learn about Cupid and Psyche and how all of these characters fit into the greater fabric of Greek mythology and ancient Greek culture as a whole. This class will serve as a fun and easy way to understand some of the various themes and tropes within Greek myth in the greater historical standing of ancient Greece.
Learning Goals
Students will receive an introduction into one of the oldest and most famous of Greek Poets, Hesiod. 
Students will by the end of the class have a greater understanding of the various tropes within greek myth and how they are applied with greater historical construct to ancient Greece. 
Students will take a deeper dive into Greek myth gain further understanding into the mechanics of the ancient Greek religion.

Parental Guidance
This class will talk about Zeus in the greater context of the various encounters that make up his story. This is not limited to kidnapping and manipulation of others. If you are uncomfortable with any of this please do not have your child take this class. These are all themes within Greek myth and are not condoned by myself in any way, shape, or form. As a historian, I will do my best to be as sensitive to these topics as I can be while still maintaining the essence of the story Also, this class is in no way, shape, or form to be conceived as any form of religious teaching. This class will be taught from a purely historical perspective and be discussed as such. These are stories and shall be treated as such and are in no way to be misconceived as religious teachings.

This class will cover the exploits of Zeus which have sensitive topics such as kidnapping and manipulation of others. These are all sensitive topics that will be covered. Since these themes are part of the stories that make up these gods and their creation of the Greek world, this is part of their story. I am a trained historian and will cover these themes in a professional and caring manner. They are sensitive topics that will be treated as such.
