Class Experience

The myths of Ancient Greece are some of the most famous in the world, being used as inspiration for countless movies, TV shows, books, and many other creative arts. However, the nymphs, naiads, and dryads of Greek Mythology are often resigned to background roles in the myths of the Greek Gods. In this class, students will learn about the myths of the nymphs, naiads. Students will also complete an activity at the end of class, designing their own nymph, naiad, or dryad based on what they learned. This class will be primarily lecture-style with an animated PowerPoint, and students will complete a drawing activity at the end of the class. Students are highly encouraged to ask questions throughout the class. We will be talking about the following:

- Lotis and Dryope
- Cerambus and the Nymphai of Mount Othrys
- Syrinx, Echo, and Pan
- Chloris, the Goddess of Flowers

And many more!

**Students are not expected to be familiar with Greek Mythology, but they should be enthusiastic about or interested in the subject. Students will be expected to participate in class discussions, and must have a working microphone and camera.**
Learning Goals
