Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Calling all Percy Jackson fans and lovers of fantasy, mythology, and history!

This class is great to open a door to this time in history where fantasy ran wild and life's mysteries were explained through various gods.

Students will learn about a new Greek god each week through an interactive lecture, group discussion, and mini drawing exercise. No previous experience or knowledge required, just an appetite to learn and have fun.

My classes are high-energy and filled with fun facts that will blow your mind!

Each class begins with an icebreaker or warmup, and includes a brief interactive lecture, discussion with peers, and a short drawing activity to demonstrate what you've learned.

Here is the tentative schedule:
Week 1: Artemis
Week 2: Apollo
Week 3: Hera
Week 4: Demeter
Week 5: Aphrodite
Week 6: Athena

Week 8: Poseidon
Week 9: Ares
Week 10: Hephaestus

🏴‍☠ SYDNEY BARBARA, PAINTING PIRATE QUEEN 🏴‍☠
Sydney Barbara is a historian, a passionate artist, and published children’s book author. She’s also a pirate expert. Yes, that’s right! She already has her Master’s Degree in History, and is currently pursuing her PhD in History and writing her dissertation on the History of Piracy! Arghhh! She loves studying and teaching history because she knows it is the ultimate learning tool for our present. You can find any answer to a present day problem just by looking throughout history. Her art practice involves mixed media, painting, and illustration. She has published the first in a series of children's books titled” Why Did the Lord Create the Sea Otter?" It is all about the different animals on our planet that have specific purposes for being here. She likes to remind her students that they too have a very important role to play on this planet, just like the animals. Her classes are fun and relaxed and full of fascinating new facts and experiences. In her spare time, you’ll find her making music, painting furniture, working on her next book, or caring for her little white bundle of puppy fur joy, Lady.
