Lesson 1
Typhon and Echidna
This lesson is all about the monster parents. Typhon and Echidna produced many of the monsters we know, love, and hate. This lesson includes a video and a discussion post.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Graea and Gorgons
This lessons covers the story and relationship between the Graea and the Gorgons (think Medusa!). There are two videos and a Kahoot! Challenge in this lesson.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Chimera and Pegasus
This lesson follows the life and stories of both the Chimera and Pegasus. There are two videos followed by an art challenge for the learners to complete.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Scylla and Charybdis
The lessons is about a pair of potential sister monsters and the heroes who encounter them. There are two videos and a map activity in this lesson.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Harpies and Sirens
This lesson covers two of the many types of bird women that the Greeks included in their myths. This includes two videos and a discussion post.

Lesson 6
Cerberus and Cyclops
This lesson is about the multi-headed Cerberus and the One-Eyed Cyclops. There are two videos and a family tree activity.

Lesson 7
Centaurs and the Sphinx
This lesson covers the origin and myths of the Centaurs and the riddles of the Sphinx. There are two videos and two riddles for learners to decipher.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Hydra and Dragons
This lesson is about the Hydra and several of the dragons that appear throughout the Greek Hero tales. This week has two videos and a create your own dragon challenge for learners to complete. It also answers the riddles from Week 7.
  • Students will learn about a variety of Greek monsters and creatures.
I have been learning about Greek Myths my entire life and went to Greece for an extended period of time to learn even more.

Details: There are activities to complete each week.
There are several art activities. Most can be completed with paper and drawing utensils. 
This class does discuss monsters, and the battles they get into with heroes. Most of them do not survive the encounter.
Stories of the monsters are pulled from the works of:
Hesiod, Homer, and Virgil, all ancient greek writers.
Students are welcome to share the portrayal of the monsters in more modern adaptations (Like Percy Jackson), but I don't teach from them.
