Do you love Greek food? Would you like to make a healthy, delicious, and fully satisfying meal at home? This is the class for you! During this course you will prepare a greek chicken couscous bowl from scratch. We will discuss how to make a quick marinade on our chicken, how to pan sear chicken, use knives safely, prepare homemade Tzatziki sauce, chop vegetables for toppings, and prepare couscous. During this course we will start with a short introduction of all learners, review materials and ingredients needed, then dive into the recipe. We will be using knives during this course, hot stovetops, boiling water, hot pans, etc. I will be actively making the recipe, demonstrating, instructing, and preparing with the chefs during the class. This will prepare enough food for at least 4 adult sized portions. Prepare to make this meal for your family for lunch or dinner! This class is perfect for a beginner in the kitchen who has some knowledge about how to use their stoves, kitchen ingredients, materials, and utensils. No previous experience required. Depending on the skillset and speed of the learners in the course class may be about 5-10 minutes under or over time. Allergen warning** The recipes used in this course may contain dairy, wheat, soy, nuts, eggs etc. Parental Guidance** Some learners may require more direct supervision depending on skillset and knowledge.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there! My name is Mary and I'm a professionally trained chef with experience in restaurants, country clubs, catering, and institutional cooking. I love to train young chefs in the "hows" and "whys" of cooking so every meal will be delicious! I thoroughly believe in hand on instruction, for cooking there is no other way. There is a ton of math, science, and creativity involved in cooking, so I try to feature those elements as well whenever I can.
My sister is a teacher and I have learned a lot of good tips and tricks for introducing a love of literacy to young children! I enjoy reading aloud to my family and like to offer classes that involve reading and snacking!
I enjoy having inquisitive learners in my classes, you will not find a class that's all PowerPoint or an all mute class from me. I love for students to ask questions, be curious, and make comments. I love to eat, travel, read, laugh, and spend time with my kids and family. I also am passionate about arts and crafts and love to get messy once in a while with glitter!
If you have a child that's passionate about culinary arts please message me about one-on-one cooking lessons and/or sessions. I can also do private birthday parties where we can cook or bake together.
