Join us in this weekly class for a time of real-life adventure stories. We'll learn about the journeys of explorers like Earhart, Henson, Batuttah, Kingsley and more. (Homeschool, Social studies, History, Geography).

Class experience

US Grade 4 - 7
- Students will learn about some of the world’s greatest explorers and how their journeys have impacted the world.
- They will improve on map reading and problem solving skills.
I have been teaching geography for the past three years and I absolutely enjoy it. My expertise is in the social sciences. I hold a Bachelors in Sociology & Social work and an Mphil in Sociology. I am currently pursuing a graduate program in Education, and understand the importance of researching from reputable and reliable sources. I consider myself a life-long learner and continue to take professional development courses with reputable organizations such as National Geographic and Facing History and Ourselves.
Optional: Learners are encouraged to have a world map or globe during lessons.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
The class discusses expeditions that ended in disasters. Death, murder and slavery will be mentioned in some of the lessons.

I will also utilize platforms like Kahoot!, Blooket, Breakout EDU and Google earth in some of my lessons. Students do not need an account to join in playing Kahoot! and Blooket. I will share a code in the class room that directs them into the game. I will screen share whenever Google Earth and Breakout EDU are used. YouTube videos may be embedded in the classroom.
