Beginner Level
Graphic Design with Canva Level One is a beginner-friendly course designed for kids ages 10 and up to explore the world of graphic design. Through engaging video lessons and hands-on projects like posters, invitations, and YouTube channel art, students will learn key design principles such as contrast, alignment, font pairing, and color theory. Using only the free version of Canva, this course is perfect for homeschooling, school projects, or simply sparking creativity. With flexible, self-paced lessons, students will build valuable skills while having fun creating their own designs! The first three lessons focus on the basic tools and features in Canva and students are given the chance to practice through assignments. Lesson 4-10 include a project with a tutorial to help them along. Students can submit their designs for feedback if they wish. Lastly, students can complete a final project and quiz to show what they have learned and print off their certificate of completion.

Design Concept: Creating a design with layers
Canva Skill: Adjust layers using position 14 mins of video lessons
Lesson 4:
Elements of Design
Design Concept: Contrast & Alignment
Canva Skill: Add lines, rotate, adjust weight, alignment with grid lines
Project: Create a 5 Step Graphic 21 mins of video lessons

Pre-Requisites
Students need access to a computer, a free account on Canva (or a paid account) and should have basic computer skills like using a mouse and following a video.
