Grammar Time! Punctuation, Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs

This class will cover the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking. The topics covered will be punctuation, nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives. Students will identify nouns and verbs of a sentence. They will determine what punctuation is needed for sentences. Students will create a list of adjectives and adverbs and apply it to sentences. This class will be whole group instruction and then move to independent practice. They will begin identifying and then applying the grammar. Students will have plenty of opportunities for interaction during class with various tools and resources. 
Week 1 Sept 11--Punctuation- will introduce sentence types and the correct punctuation and capitalization. In every class, students will have opportunities to interact. 
Week 2-Sept 18-Nouns- will introduce nouns, create a list of nouns, use nouns in sentences, plural and singular nouns. 
Week 3-Sept 25-Verbs- will introduce verbs, create a list of verbs, and use verbs in sentences. 
Week 4-October 1-Adjectives- will introduce adjectives, create a list of adjectives, and use them in sentences. 
Week 5-October 9-Adverbs- will introduce adverbs, create a list of adverbs, and use them in sentences.
