US Grade Kindergarten - 2
In this lesson, learners will have fun listening to a story about Lu-lu the chicken who thinks the nouns on the farm are boring. She moves to the city to find new and exciting nouns, but she discovers that maybe a fast-paced life isn't all it's cracked up to be. After the story, we will play an interactive noun game, where the students can control the screen using their computer mouse or touch pad. Then, we will make a noun craft - Melvin's Amazing Noun Multiplying Machine! The students will need the printable of Melvin's Amazing Noun Multiplying Machine as well as scissors and tape or glue. This class is great for children who are just learning about nouns, or to provide extra practice for learners who already know about nouns. Let's start our noun learning!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of nouns. They will listen to a story and be able to share nouns from the story. Finally, students will be able to read plural forms of certain nouns through a noun craft.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I'm Teacher Shannon! I have taught 2nd grade for 24 years. I've taught both Gifted and Regular Education. I was a substitute teacher for 2 years working with Early Childhood students as well as older elementary students. My passion is reading! I love Children's Literature and I have even co-taught college level students on "What's New In Children's LIterature?" for the last 10 years. What drives me as a teacher is to have a fun, safe, interactive classroom while embracing lots of quality literature. I want kids to love reading as much as I do and to have fun learning! And maybe make a craft or two along the way!
