The safari continues in part 2 of this class. Now that learners can identify and manipulate the parts of a sentence (the subject, predicate, phrases, and clauses), they are ready to put that knowledge to work. 

Crafted to develop sophisticated and mature writers, this class allows students to work on sentence combining, deconstructing sentences, adding on, unscrambling, moving sentence parts around, and learning to manipulate phrases and clauses to write something beautiful. They make rapid progress in this class by using published authors as their guides. Like placing tracing paper over a beautiful picture, learners imitate the craft of beloved authors to learn the skills and techniques. Then they use their own ideas but imitate the professional's sentence structure.
