This class is perfect for middle schoolers who need a brush-up on how to write a sentence. We'll go over parts of speech and clauses, and learn how to recognize and write a complete sentence.

This class is perfect for older kids who haven't yet mastered the basics of sentence-writing. If you get feedback from other teachers that you need to write in complete sentences, but you're not sure how to fix it, this class is for you! I like to have fun and get work done. We will cover parts of speech, subjects, predicates, types of clauses, fragments, run-ons, and simple sentences. We will have meet-and-greet for the first 5 minutes of class, and then we will get to work! Lessons are taught with presentation, note-taking, and discussion. During the lesson we will practice together, and there will be time for independent work as well. Day 1: Note-taking, discussion, individual subject and predicate practice Day 2: Note-taking, discussion, independent clause practice Day 3: Review, silly sentences, review game

Here on Outschool I teach English grammar, organization, and sentence structure, Literature, including book talks, and History. My classroom environment is inclusive of all identities. I am supportive of any pronouns your child is comfortable using.
I am a teacher licensed in the state of Texas to teach all subjects Early Childhood through 6th grade, as well as Bilingual English Learners and Gifted and Talented students. I have experience with students with learning differences, such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and anxiety. Please let me know before class if your learner has any learning differences, and I will be prepared to help them!
My teaching style is very personal and conversational, while also digging deep into the subject we're learning. My grammar and sentence structure classes are especially helpful for any learner, including homeschoolers, remote learners, and those in in-person classes to fill in gaps or support learning done in class.
