Description
Class Experience
I have taught for over 30 years at this point. I started as a corporate trainer training, at the time, high-end IT classes. I went on to homeschool my children through high school, an endeavor that took 16 years. During those years I ran several Co-op classes for junior high and high school Language Arts, Public Speaking, and Drama. I also created Scene and Heard Performing Arts, a live homeschool Drama Club for ages 5-18. I am very familiar with upper elementary, middle school, high school, and adult learning.
We will meet for 45 minutes each week and I will provide homework, homework keys, and digital tests for a week’s worth of lessons. Please expect your student to work from 30-45 minutes 4 days per week on the materials outside of class. Each week will follow a similar structure. The materials will be available by 12 am on the morning of class. The materials will be sent as a .pdf Binder for the week that includes reference pages needed for the week, 1 classroom practice that we will need for class that day, and 4 student practice worksheets for their weekly assignments. A Student Materials Key, and Digital Test will be posted to the classroom at 12 am on the morning of the day before class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
All materials are printable .pdfs that are housed on Google Drive, Tests are created and maintained on Google Forms, I use Kahoot for reviews and to help learn vocabulary, and I use embedded Youtube Videos to communicate small interactions, and mid-week lessons or encouragement.
