This 5-week self-paced class is all about sentence structure. We'll explore how different elements of sentences work together to create clear and effective writing – focusing on everything from the basics of sentence components to crafting engaging and varied sentences. ⭐︎The topics covered will include: ☞Subject-Predicate ☞Independent and Dependent Clauses ☞Compound Sentences and Coordinating Conjunctions ☞Complex Sentences and Subordinating Conjunctions ☞Types of Sentences (Bringing it all Together) ☞Punctuation and its Role in Sentences ☞Common Sentence Errors and How to Avoid Them ☞Crafting Varied and Engaging Sentences ⭐︎How is the class structured? The class is structured to be self-paced over 5 weeks. Each week, learners will: ☞Watch interactive videos designed to be engaging and full of enthusiasm, aiming to get learners excited about the content. ☞Interact with the video by pausing and completing tasks to help build understanding. ☞Complete two additional activities after each video to reinforce and deepen their understanding of the lesson taught. ⭐︎How will I teach? The teaching method involves: ☞Interactive Videos: These are designed to be engaging and require learners to interact with the content by pausing and completing tasks. ☞5 Weeks of Teacher Support: I will provide feedback on completed tasks to help learners improve and understand the material better.

Subjects and Predicates
Students will learn to identify and distinguish between the subject and predicate in sentences. They will practice labeling these components and combining them to form complete sentences. 2 assignments

Lesson 2:
Independent and Dependent Clauses
Students will learn to identify and distinguish between independent and dependent clauses. 2 assignments
Unit 3: Constructing Compound Sentences
Lesson 3:
Compound Sentences and Coordinating Conjunctions
Students will learn how to use coordinating conjunctions (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) to join independent clauses and form compound sentences. They will practice constructing and punctuating compound sentences. 2 assignments

Lesson 4:
Complex Sentences and Subordinating Conjunctions
Students will focus on using subordinating conjunctions (although, because, since, unless, etc.) to link dependent clauses to independent clauses, forming complex sentences. 2 assignments
