Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 4
Do you want to help your learner understand the rules of grammar to improve their reading and writing? I am here to help!

At the beginning of each class, learners will be introduced to the grammar rule or concept that we are studying. Learners can brainstorm words that fit that category. They will have the opportunity to discuss the rule with me. Then, we will have some guided practice. Learners need a simple notebook for writing and interactive notebook activities. After that, we will reinforce the skill through a song or chant. Next, we will practice using the rule in a real world situation. Learners will then identify the grammar rule in sentences. Finally, learners will practice the grammar concept independently. This allows me to assess their progress. Bonus activities are also included for additional independent practice!

With a background in general education, I love to teach lessons that incorporate reading, writing, math, science, social studies. Learners should feel comfortable and welcome in the classroom. I think it is important to make learning a personal experience for each learner. I encourage each student to share their thinking. I work create a space where learners feel comfortable to learn. In order for every child to flourish they need to be seen, heard, and loved.

I believe in building relationships with my students and making learning engaging and connected to their lives. I use a multi-sensory approach to learning. I incorporate multiple domains throughout my lessons. I love to have fun in the classroom through conversations, games, and hands-on learning.
