Grammar doesn't have to be boring and it doesn't need to take a long time! Students will learn the rules of capitalization and punctuation in this FLEX course. In the first two weeks, students will learn 31 rules of capitalization through video lessons, activities, and worksheets. In the second two weeks, students will learn how to correctly use punctuation marks through video lessons, activities, and worksheets. Students will learn the rules to effectively use periods, commas, question marks, exclamation points, apostrophes, colons, semicolons, and hyphens. They will also learn how to use quotation marks and when to underline. Each week, the students will be given short video lessons with examples before they have the opportunity to complete assignments to help ensure mastery. Students are expected to submit their work for feedback! All videos and assignments will be posted to the classroom on Mondays at 8:00 am EDT.

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Behavioral Analysis, graduating magna cum laude. Since my graduation in 2006, I have worked to remain up-to-date and informed on the ever-changing field of Criminal Justice. I create and offer homeschool Forensic Science courses in our community because I'm passionate about the field. I am passionate about teaching students about the vastly different ways to be involved in our criminal justice system and helping dispel the many myths created by the very entertaining crime dramas!
I hold an active nationally accredited personal training certification through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine, and I look forward to educating and helping students learn more about exercise science and consider Personal Training as a career path that they may want to follow!
I strive to give your child a classroom environment that fosters learning and discussion. My classes will include hands-on learning or interaction whenever possible because I believe this is the best way to create a passion for learning! I will guide students in meaningful discussions about what they are learning and how the field can be improved. I love helping students ENJOY learning. I strive to make learning typically "boring" subjects like grammar exciting and fun! We all learn best when we are having fun!
I homeschool my own children, currently 16 and 13 years old. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the spark to learn fostered with my own children and the children I have in my classes. In my free time, I love training my 3 -year old Great Dane puppy and 4-year-old German Shepherd! We have taught the pups tricks like puppy push-ups, spinning, rolling-over, and many more! I love sharing about my dogs in class, and I typically have pictures or videos to share with my students! In the fall, you will find me cheering on my favorite college football team, the University of Georgia Bulldogs!
