What will be taught?
In this course, you will master the fundamentals of grammar, focusing on sentence types, nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adjectives. You'll learn how to identify and use these elements effectively to create clear and engaging sentences.

Topics Covered:

Sentence Types: Understand and construct simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences.
Nouns and Verbs: Identify different types of nouns and verbs and learn how to use them correctly.
Adjectives and Adverbs: Explore how adjectives can enhance your writing by adding detail and depth.

Class Structure:
The class is organized into three main sections, each dedicated to one of the core topics. Each section includes short instructional videos that provide clear definitions, examples, and guided practice.

Lesson 1:
Nouns and Verbs
 This module is all about nouns and verbs, the main parts of sentences. You'll learn to identify different kinds of nouns and verbs. Videos will explain these concepts with clear examples, and you'll do exercises to practice using them. By the end, you'll feel confident writing sentences with the right nouns and verbs.

Adjectives and Adverbs
 In this module, you will explore adjectives and adverbs, which make your writing more descriptive. You'll learn how to use adjectives to add detail and adverbs to describe verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. Videos will show you how these words work, and you'll do fun activities and quizzes to practice using them in your writing. This will help make your stories and essays more colorful and engaging.

Sentence Types
 In this module, you will learn about four types of sentences: simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex. You'll discover how to spot each type and write your own sentences, making your writing more interesting.

I started my path to teaching in college when I volunteered with AmeriCorps.  I went on to teach in traditional public schools after I completed my M.Ed. and received my teaching license, but I quickly learned the school environment was not the ideal setting for myself or my child.  That is when I transitioned to homeschooling and teaching online.  I have been teaching writing course for fifteen years.  My primary objective in each class is to help the learners feel comfortable and gain confidence in their writing.
