Daily Grade 2 Math Class (Ongoing)

We will be teaching Grade 2 Math. We may use games, slides, video, images, manipulatives to teach the material. We will be using the interactive whiteboard on Zoom so students are encouraged to share their responses using a mouse, in the chat box or using a drawing tablet. Students in the past have had great success with using a stylus, apple pencil or drawing tablet with a electronic pencil to write their response on the screen. Completion of Grade 1 is required for the Grade 2 section.  Previous Grade 1 Math experience or knowledge would be recommended because the curriculum moves quite fast.

Covers: three digit numbers, hundreds on the number line, forming numbers and breaking them apart, skip counting by tens, more skip counting, word problems

Week of (Jan 20) Unit 6 Three digit numbers
Covers: which number is greater, comparing numbers and review, word problems, add and subtract whole hundreds

Week of (Jan 27) Unit 7 Measuring
Covers: measuring the the nearest centimeter, inches, and half inches, word problems, feet and miles, weight in pounds, weight in kilograms, word problems
 
Week (Feb 3) Unit 7 Measuring
covers: review, word problems, begin Unit 8
 
Week (Feb 10) Unit 8 Regrouping in addition and subtraction 
covers: adding 3 digit numbers in columns, regrouping 10 tens as a hundred, regrouping twice

covers: regrouping in subtraction, word problems, mental subtraction, word problems

Week (Feb 24) Unit 8 Regrouping in addition and subtraction
