Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Was pirate life all sword fighting, climbing rope ladders and adventure? Did pirates really buried treasure, and have talking parrots as pets? Did pirates truly make their captives walk the plank? Find out the answers to these questions and more as we separate myth from history in his four week self paced class.

*** self paced class means that all lessons are pre-recorded with no live meetings. There is no set time for you to attend class. You can choose when to enjoy these lessons.

Each lesson will contain a classroom video with visuals and amazing facts about pirate life. Students can watch these videos on their own schedule and watch it as many times, as you'd like to absorb all the amazing pirate facts. When students are done watching the video, they can play a fun Kahoot quiz game to see how well they remember the things they learned. The Kahoot game is completely optional, and will require a free account from kahoot.com. Also I am available to respond to messages with any questions student may have about the lessons. You may send me a written message or a video message, whichever you'd like to do.

As a father to an active 8 year old, I know that learning must be fun. The early years of a child’s education is critical not only for their future success but also their enjoyment of learning. I want to start kids off right on this journey. I have a Bachelor‘s degree from Geneva College with over a decade experience teaching children and teens. I have years of experience leading a classroom in both public schools in Ohio as well as online. I previously held credentials through the State of Ohio Department of Education (now expired). I taught in public schools for 2 school years where history and other social studies was part of my duties as an educator. I have over 5 years of experience teaching children on online platforms and have taught thousands of kids to love history. I pride myself on never letting kids get bored yet always be learning. I have a passion for helping children succeed.
